Old Town
It is one of the oldest medieval settlements of Prague dated back to 10th century. Winding streets in various ways where you can easily get lost. There are Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings and monuments. At the heart of this area is Old Town Square / Staroměstské náměstí with Old Town Hall / Staroměstská radnice decorated with Astronomical Clock / Orloj. The Astronomical Clock in other words Astrolabe is a medieval mechanism still operating, with astronomical dial representing update position of the sun, the moon and planets of our solar system. In 1348 Carolinum, the seat of Czech university was founded. The Estates Theater / Stavovské divadlo. Fortified merchant’s yard Ungelt, where customs duties were collected back in medieval. The Municipal House / Obecní dům a gem of Art Nouveau. The Powder Tower / Prašná brána opens the King’s Road / Královská cesta and the route finishes at Prague Castle / Pražský hrad.
